Hi I'm Adam new to the forums and new to photography.
I have never owned a camera bar the 8.1 MP on the back of my phone which also does 720 p HD video.
We have two young children a boy and girl and decided now would be a good time to invest in a camera. The wife uses a luminix 12 MP digital one currently and has a flip video camera for full HD video also.
I went and got our first REAL camera yesterday a Cannon EOS 500D. I know it's not the best one out there and no doubt others hate it or would have brought another one instead lol, but we got the camera a 55 m lens ( I think) and a 75-300 lens the uv covers, memory card and carry case for a decent price.
Been reading the manual but it's somewhat French to me at present although I have been 'messing' around with the camera and we both agree it's a fab picture (compared to what we are use to anyway).
Hope to learn a lot going forward and be part of the overall community.
Ps I'm also currently looking at some free photography software for my laptop (may have some on there already as I've never looked) anyone recommend one? Photoscape appears to be a good starting place if the google search info is anything to go off.
Cheers
