Hi, My father and brother take photography very seriously indeed and are both accomplished photographers. Unfortunatly this family trait has at last started to rub off on me but I still find the tech a bit confusing and the variety of cameras daunting. I am looking for a new camera, nothing fancy, and to fill gaps in my knowledge. Hopefully this site will help.

Don't worry dude. It's a slow process, it's taken me two years to move from a point and shoot to a DSLR, but in the short time I've owned the DSLR I have learned more than I ever have. If you can afford to pick up a Canon 1000D, 450D or similar DSLR camera why not go for it?
