Hello! I'm new....

Hi there!
I'm new and very very pleased I found this place
Have been given a Canon 40D, desperately love photography and now want to learn how to get the best out of my new toy.......I have no clue
...........other than some studio work with a friend.
Can anyone recommend how I go about this? I want to learn.
Local college classes are taking pupils in Sept (far too long to wait) and money is really tight, too tight to go on a residential course etc.

local schools do some course every 10 weeks or so as a basic one in my area check your local council there is also tutorials in this forum and you tube
i have used you tube for help before

plenty of books on ebay check out the pecific one for your camera it will give you a guide of what is what

or give any one of us a shout im sure someone will be glad to help

The 40D: Avoid the green square alltogether! I messed with the aperture/shutter priority until I was comfortable, then flicked to full manual. It's a great camera. Everything becomes second nature in a very short space of time. Jump on in.
