Hi all,
Just a quickie to introduce myself. I've been interested in photography pretty much all my life but have never been any good at it. In all fairness to myself though, I've not really dedicated much time to it as I have done with other hobbies, but now that I'm reaching the big 50, I've decided to knuckle down and make a real effort.
After the summer break, I'm going to join the Bolton Camera Club and participate in all the club's activities regardless of all the voices in my head which tell me I'm not good enough.
I'm also gonna spend a lot more time walking with the camera. About 25 years ago you couldn't part me from my little Pentax ME Super! I used to take it everywhere with me and was always on the lookout for photo opportunities, but as I grew older (and chubbier)
I kinda lost the motivation to trek up hills and dales.
Anyway, I am now the proud owner of a Nikon D300 with 3 cracking lenses (50, 10-20 & 18-200) and hope to produce some decent stuff in the coming years. I also have a Nikon F4 film camera which I never use anymore. I'm not going to sell it though because it's just a work of art!
In addition to photography, I'm also crazy about motorbikes, painting (oils and watercolour), music, movies and allsorts of other stuff. Bloody useless at them all, but enjoy jumping from one thing to another :nuts:
