Hi there,
I've been interested and practicing photography for several years now so I thought I'd try this forum.
I've always liked to photograph nature, in particular landscapes, so here's two shots taken at the hometown of Emsworth.

Good start,Tim.
The swans would have been a fine shot, but they are not sharp.

2nd shot is actually very pleasing. Not a big fan of blurred water, but your shot works really well with nice reflections and a good composition.

Welcome Tim - I agree with Dougie with regards the focus on the swans - It is looking a bit soft. Nice light though. The second image is tranquil and pleasing to the eye with a good composition. There's lots to look at and the combination of colour and almost silhouette works well.

Good to have you on board and definitely look forward to seeing some more shots from you

Thanks for the welcomes.
I know the swans aren't as sharp as I had hoped, for a combination of focus hitting the water behind and a slow(ish) shutter speed as an attempt to create a subtle panning effect.
And as for the second image, I could never decide whether the stones underwater in the foreground had a place in the image.

Welcome Tim and a couple of great first post images, love the second one.

Welcome aboard Tim - good to have you here.
We're a friendly bunch, so please make yourself at home and get settled in.

A really good start with those first couple of images - as everyone else has said, love the second one and the first is very, very close to being stunning.
The foreground stones work for me BTW.
Looking forward to seeing more from you around the forums.

Heya Tim and welcome to TP.. I spent the first 7 yrs of my life close too you, in Gosport so a big  i have to say #2 is beautiful, really really like that

Look forward to seeing more of you and your images around the forum

Hey, thanks for the replies.
Here's the same swans on the same lake on a different day. I've been meaning to go out on a nice sunrise and try this shot again since I've recently acquired a 2x teleconvertor for my sigma 70-200 f/2.8 :)
