Hello all.My name is Gary, I live in Hornchurch, Essex.(Clue is in the title really!!)
I have worked as a medical photographer for a few (cough!) years, and also as a forensic photographer.
I am now looking to get into a more commercial line in photography, so I am looking to get started on family/portrait etc shooting.
I also enjoy wildlife and macro and landscapes too.
I have shelved my film gear, and am just building up my DSLR kit.
I have a D7000 coming in a week's time, and have a few primes,(50mm 1.8g, 35mm 1.4, 105mm 2.8) and a couple of zooms to start with. I also intend to get a D700 in the new year.
I also have a couple of Nikon speedlites (SB800, and SB 80 DX), but I will be ordering a 3 head studio kit sometime in the next couple of weeks.
Always looking for excuses to learn, and I am keen to do as much people shooting as possible, as it would make a change from the people I was shooting as a medic !!
I am always up for joining in, and if there is any-one nearby who wants to meet, and maybe go and have a day out with cameras etc, I would be up for that.
I hope to contribute to the forums whenever possible, as it looks like a friendly and well subscribed place to be.
Anyway, that's my first post out of the way.
