hello from cornwall

hello, im james and have decided to take the plunge from point and shoot and get myself an slr.
i really love the part of the country i live in and love taking pictures of it. I used to use a panasonic dmctz3 compact lovely camera but ive decide i would like to get into it a bit more.

I opted for the canon eos 450d with two lenses 18-55 and 55-250. i have not got a clue what all the bells and whistles do at the min so have ordered a "book for idiots"

any help pointers much appreciated. Is there anybody in cornwall that does a workshop or someone willing to give me a bit of one to one?

Hello James, welcome to the forum, DSLR is not as daunting as it looks, it's easy to grasp the basics.

Welcome !! i too own a 450d and the best way to learn is to get out there batteries fully charged and get snapping !!
