Hey all.
I have only just entered the world of photography having purchased my first camera at the beginning of February. Although I am a ripe 42 years old I have never before owned a camera (other than on a mobile phone)!!
I opted for the Nikon D40 as an entry level dslr as it was not much more expensive than some of the compacts I was looking at. Have since purchased a Tamron 70-300mm lens, tripod (crappy cheap thing and have just ordered a decent Manfrotto), filters, bag, etc, etc - so as you can tell I am getting hooked!!
My favoured photography subjects are landscape, macro and B&W.
I hope to benefit from the advice and critique of those on the forum with far more experience and techical ability than I have and as you will gather from my first post I quite chatty and so should fit in well enough.
Cheers
Col
