Just joined the community and excited to connect with other photographers here. I'm passionate about film photography and have been working on solving one of those everyday frustrations we all face: keeping track of our analog shot data.

Built an app called Frames that lets you log camera settings and film details as you shoot, then embed that metadata into your scanned images. It's been a game changer for organizing my film archive.

Looking forward to learning from everyone's experiences, sharing workflows, and contributing to the discussions here. Always curious to hear how other film shooters manage their processes and what challenges you face.

Cheers!

Hi Vincent, And welcome aboard TP, looking forward to hearing from you and maybe seeing some of your images on the various forums. "Enjoy"

Thank you George, likewise! And nice profile pic :)

@vnn Welcome to TP, plenty of film-related content here.
You are I guess not aware of the "Film Shots" app that was developed by a TP member a number of years ago that does what you've described that your app does.

Anyway, not wishing to pour cold water etc, but please be aware that you aren't allowed to advertise your app here without paying to do so. Once you've established yourself as a member, by participating in discussions and sharing your images, we may relax that to let you mention it in your signature block.

Thanks for pointing that out Lindsay. I wasn’t aware of Film Shots and will check it out. My project actually started in 2020 under the name “Datafilm,” and I’ve only more recently been working on it full time.

No worries about the rules, I completely understand and will make sure to respect them.

Welcome to the forum Vincent, I hope you enjoy your self here :)

Thanks, Norkie! I’m heading to bed now, but tomorrow I’ll take a closer look at the film/scanning section of the forum to see what I can learn. At the moment I’m scanning my negatives with my father’s D7100, but I’m not too happy with the results, the scans feel like they’re missing detail.
