Hello everyone,

Just joined today so thought I'd introduce myself.

Recently purchased a Canon EOS 550D with the 18-55 mm lens, I'm a total newbie to DSLR cameras and photography so no doubt will ask lots of newbie questions, apologies in advance for some silly questions. :)

Looking forward to picking up some tips from more experienced photographers and hopefully sometime in the future I can pass on some of that advice. (Although that will be a while yet)

welcome to TP, very capable camera you have purchased soon you'll get the bug and be skint upgrading lenses like me lol
Just to get you started on the big spend every canon crop owner must get one of these canon efs 17-55 f2.8
