Hi everyone,

Been meaning to join for some time but just never got round to it.

I'm based near Bristol and have had a long interest in photography from taking landscapes in film days but that all changed when I was given a compact digital for my 40th. Six years on, I now shoot mainly folk music concerts and some festivals as a hobby but it is all self taught and I have a lot to learn.

Looking forward to meeting up with some of you and making new friends, as time allows. My biggest problem is not the taking of the photos but the post processing. Also at the moment I have a issue with a new hard drive, so you may well see me on the computer thread, asking for help!

Hi Alan and welcome to TP. We are a really friendly bunch on here, with many different areas of expertise. Have a little browse in the tutorial section, there's a post processing section on there where you may pick up some tips!

I will do when I have the time. Problem at the moment is this big backlog of photos to process. It's catch 22!

How do you get on with your 5D MkII. That's what I would love to get next. The 40D is a great camera but when shooting at 1600 or 3200 ISO I need to run the photos through noise reduction and it all adds time. I gather the 5D MkII is much better.
