Whch of these polairisers do people think are best?? Looking to use with a tokina 11-16mm / lee filter system and Nikon D90. Probably only need to use 2 other filters.

Looking to avoid problems with the wide angled lens.

Thanks for any views in advance.

There's a test report for a reasonable selection of CPL's here. The Heliopan's don't figure near the top of the list but it's worth reading the test summary for each one to see if the failings are likely to affect you....click the test tab to the right of each one.

FWIW, I'm happy with my B&W's

I use a B&W Käsemann CPL which I'm happy with. To warn you though, no matter what filter you use you may get weird effects using an ultra wide lens and a CPL. Due to the viewing angles involved, you don't get even polarization across the image.

I have the b&w kasemann cpl it is an awesome filter, wish I had paid the £ equivilant to that price.

As messiah khan said you do not get even polarisation across the frame.

I quiet like the effect sometimes, just a quick example

thanks for the comments. The test certainly seems to rate the B+W polarisers higher than the heliopan ones. I'm not so worried about the variable effect of the polariser on the wide angled lens. I guess that is something you just have to live with (it's either that or don't use a polariser and i don't think landscapes look right without one). More concerned that I may get vignetting at 11-16mm with 2 filters. Does anone get this problem with the B+W?

I get vignetting at 16mm on full frame with two stacked filters, so you are likely to at 11mm on a crop camera.

Puddleduck - thanks for the comments - do you think I'll still get the vignetting at the 16mm end?

If I stack a C-Pol and a 3 stop ND grad I still get vignetting in the corners on full frame up to around 24mm. So on a crop camera I think you'll still get it at 16mm if you stack.
