Heathrow to Watford next Saturday - 9am to 6pm - any suggestions

I'll have a few hours next Saturday when I leave Heathrow before I get to Watford for a wedding at 6pm.

I don't know the area at all - so if anyone has any suggestions how can I while away the hours - preferably photography related.

I will have my own car, but not averse to using public transport

Maybe some street photography - so I suppose a trip into London could be on.

Also, I like old churches and ruins - any suggestions?

could hang around heathrow for a while and get some aircraft shots.
apart from the flying ones, a concorde is normally hanging about somewhere close to the perimeter road.
depending on which way the wind is blowing and which runway is being used for landings you can get some good shots of the planes clipping the chimneys of some of the houses :)
 
Quick google reveals Windsor Castle - a bit "touristy" - but should have some decent photo opportunities !
 
Thanks Gary - I've never done aircraft shots - so it will be a chance to try something new.

I'll look out for Concorde aswell.

Perhaps a walk around St.Albans?

The market is open on a Saturday and there is always the Cathedral, plus there are several areas in the immediate vicinity which may be of interest to you:

We had a photography meet there back in August and you could loosely follow the route I prepared which also highlighted various areas relating to the old Roman Town of Verulamium.

It's also a nice easy ride back to Watford.

The Grand Union Canal cuts inside the M25 between Watford and north of Heathrow...could get some interesting shots waterside with bridges and boats as tranquility meets urbanisation

Thanks SebJay - I think I'll be stopping over on the Saturday night, so I will definitely add this to the list for Sunday.
