(heads up) background support < £50

Well, my backdrop (Muslin) just arrived from these guys... pretty speedy delivery for this time of year ... and free too! :thumbs:

So, onto the backdrop its self...
I chose the Espresso and Spice Muslin 2mx3m at 23.50, coming to a total of £27.62 with tax.

Well, I think you definately get what you pay for, as although the weave of the cotton seems quite dense, there's no weight in it & the fabric is actually quite flimsy.
I havent tried it in situ yet but I threw it across the bannister and could clearly see the rails through it.
I have a feeling that when I come to use this Ill be using it on top of my black sheet!

Overall I dont think its bad value for the money... a double sheet wouldnt cost much less.
But if youre wanting a muslin for everyday use, i.e a black or white one, I think Id pay that bit more and so hope to get the quality reflected in the price.

Also note the prices quoted are ex. vat, but £58 is still a very good price!!
 
no prob's, I too got the £50 quid backdrop and while it's not the strongest it will do me fine plus you can always use the stands as lightstands when needed.
 
Yeah i purchased the Karlu.com backdrop and that was like tracing paper. I then deceided to pay the extra for the Interfit one (which was twice the money) but more than twice the quality.
 
I was thinking of buying the stand + black and white backdrop which they are selling. Am i right in saying that the backdrops wouldn't be good qaulity and will let light shine through becuase they are too thin? I'm new to this sort of lighting and thought since i have some studio flash lights i might aswell get some backdrops to have a play. Don't fancy spending too much since money is a bit tight now with the 2nd baby :) so any recommendations would be great.

Forgot to mention that i will be using this at home for messy around.
 
it says the stands are 2mtrs x 3mtrs

Which of those 2 sizes is the width... as i need them quite wide for bundles of children!!
