Hi can anyone point me in the right direction where to find the head of nikon Europe email details as Nikon uk is no help after DPD played football with my parcel and smashed my 24-70 lens, been on to both sides and its only covered too £100 which is rubbish so if any of you great people can help then let me know thank you

I would be very surprised if you could get anymore than their Warranty/Service dept address.

Curious as to what has occured ?
Who sold you the lens ?

My lens was coming back from Nikon and DPD have kicked the life out the box and Nikon UK are not helping with support to fight this

Tweet them you'll be surprised how keen companies are to avoid bud publicity.

You could probably guess his address if you know his name ie firstname.surname@nikon.com

If they posted you the lens with insufficient insurance make sure you get them to cough up!

Its DPD problem but they will not talk to me and nikon say they will only pay £100 and its DPD policy which you can guess what i think about that.... its been now 11days with no help so want to get to the top of the pile

Can you *prove* that it was damaged when you received it? (Did you take photos of the damaged box before opening it, etc?) If you did, then Nikon haven't got a leg to stand on. They packed the box, they chose the carrier, they decided how much in-transit insurance to buy, so it's 100% their responsibility if the lens doesn't get to you in one piece.

But if you can't prove it...

Yes taken photos of the box before anything was open and then open and the damage on the lens it just takes the **** but Nikon don't want to fight it and they say DPD will pick up the lens for repair LOL no chance there touching it again

When I had an issue with my brand new D4s (it had been in for repair almost as long as I had owned it) a couple months ago, I emailed the MD and although I didn't get a reply from him, it took 2 days after the email and a new D4s was on its way to me.

Staff Edit: Can you PM to OP please, so we dont get blamed for him getting a shedload of christmas cards emails please ;)

Sure, will do. It's publicly available (if you hunt him down on LinkedIn/Google/etc.).

Shame about the staff edit, no MD should be worried about his customers knowing his contact details as his company shouldn't be treating them badly enough they want to get in touch with him.

I should probably add that the Nikon ‎Service Support Administrators were actually really helpful and I probably would have lost even more hair had the likes of India (person, not country) not calmly assisted me. All in all, Nikon did look after me. It took patience and determination, but customer service did prevail in the end. My email to John Walshe may or may not have helped though. I guess I'll never know

yeah. tell us something we don't know. I taught the grumpy git on TV how to complain!

Lyton that email just bounced back too me do you know any others

Social media it all over facebook and twitter with both Nikon and DPD tagged - they will want it dealt with to your satisfaction then. Include a photo or two as well.

It's nikon's responsibility to send it back in an appropriately insured manner or cover the cost if something happens. If their courier that they paid for smashed it then Nikon should cover the cost and claim on their insurance with DPD. If they didn't insure it for an adequate amount it is their loss not yours. They paid DPD. They pay out as they were in charge of your property and should take reasonable care. Fobbing you off and blaming DPD is a bad attitude. Your contract is with Nikon. Deal with them only. It's up to them to deal with DPD.

If you paid DPD and didn't choose to insure it properly then it would be a different matter, it would be the tough tits scenario.

I'm surprised DPD killed it though as they're usually one of the more careful and competent couriers. But I have noticed they aren't quite as careful as they used to be.

Citizen's advice consumer direct helpline is a good starting point. I'd find the name of the service/warranty manager and email to tell them as they paid DPD then you expect Nikon to either pay the full replacement cost of the lens or send you a new lens. They employed DPD so they are responsible and it is acceptable to just blame DPD and avoid their responsibility to return the lens to you. If it has been broken it also points to inadequate packing by Nikon anyway as you always assume any courier will use your package like a football and pack assuming it will fall down a flight of stairs.

Take pictures of all the packaging and the state of the lens.

Type in ceo email address in Google, their is a dedicated site for all ceo emails, I have used it to complain for the past few years, it's great.
