HDR?!?!?!

HDR (High Dynamic Range)in essnence is combining multiple exposures in software like Photomatix in order to maximize details. Effects can range from cartoonlike to realistic. You'd need Photomatix, a tripod (preferably) and a camera that can Auto Bracket (preferably).

Regards

Two examples of my own HDR, one grungey, cartoony the other less so.

I still like to use HDR for interior/low light shots

If you want to dabble for free....Picturenaut.

Not up to Photmatrix complexity but adaquate.

You can use a free version of photomatixpro but it puts a water mark on the finished image. The only way to remove this is to be a dab hand in photoshop (time consuming) or buy the software. Well worth a look though.

I have Photomatix but also NIK Software's HDR Efex Pro (it edits a single shot) plug-in for CS5.
