Hdr software

Hi,

Is photomatix still a good option for HDR or is there a better option around now. I have cs4 but it isn't the best.

Yes is the simple answer, CS5 is better than CS4 but IMHO still miles behind Photomatix, a lot of people seem to like Oleano but the results I have seen I didn't like, but I haven't tried it myself to give it a fair comparrson.

Hi the best way is to bracket using at least 3 photos and then you use the hdr to Automatically line them up.

Then it has a load of other advance settings to adjust to your likng.

Photomatix has a trial version, which you can try. The website will tell you all about it and explain it better than me.

You can get a pretty good HDR type effect with a single image but it's not a true high dynamic range.
My personal preference is 3 shots 2 stops apart, but I have had some very good results with a single image (moving subject etc) with Photomatix.
