I have just downloaded the latest version of DPP and have noticed the addition of HDR functionality. Has anyone any experience of using this instead of Photomatix etc (which I don't have)? Thanks

I'm not a big fan of HDR so I've never used Photomatix, but when I noticed it had been added to DPP I had a quick play, and with certain types of images it's quite impressive. You can use it with a single or multiple raw files - so far I've only tried with a single raw - and then there are three or four sliders you use to control the effect. It's well worth trying out!

Thanks SixToes. Will give it a go.

I downloaded this but cannot get it to run.
I open the HDR tool and get the ''Select Images'' window, I select three images and click ''Start HDR'' but no ''Adjust Image'' appears.
I have re-downloaded but no change.
Can somebody point out what I am doing wrong please ?
Thank you,
Andy

It might only work with raw files, I've never tried it with JPEGs. Which file type are you trying?

It can be a bit hit and miss, sometime it will do a fantastic job, other a total failure.
I guess it depend on the style of photo, but well worth have a look at.

Hi mate, just had a quick try, i selected 1 image then under exposed, then saved image in first window, saved original image next, no adjustment, then over exposed image, saved again.
Then went to files and put them in appropriate windows, worked ok, just depends on image.
Cheers steve

I have no problems with the tool at all

In the main window I select the three images I want to use.
Then from the menu the HDR tool, which pops up with my images showing in the 3 thumbnail windows of the tool, and just press Start HDR.
It the says processing images, and a few second later the Adjust Image box pops up.

As to why it's not work on your system I have no idea, sorry.

Looks interesting, can anyone post a selection of images. Thanks
