Never tried HDR before so figured I'd try and give it a go, what is the best software to use (am using mac with aperture 2) and where can I get it for free!

Any other tips would be great

Cheers

photomatix do a free trial but you'll have watermarked images. best and free are two words that don't often go together i'm afraid

To list a few...

Photomatix Pro
FDR Tools Advanced
Dynamic Photo HDR
Artizen HDR
Adobe Photoshop CS3/4

I use Photomatix, and quite happy with it. I too use Aperture2, and you can get a plug-in version, although for some reason I decided on the stand-alone version.

I think the others are pretty good too, but they produce different types of results. Best to download the free versions and give them all a whirl. :D

This is a freebie as well , don't ask me how to pronounce it though.....

Qtpfsui

Once you get it loaded it's very easy to use.
