Hi,

Ive recently had a play with photomatix. Im having a problem converting my TIFF HDR images to JPG for upload onto forums.

Any ideas how I can get around this problem.

I host it on image shack, but then the file isnt viewable in a post.

Is there a way of using Flicker as my host?

Help:bonk:

Cheers.

Are you using 16 bit files and then trying to save as jpeg, as jpeg is only 8 bit so you need to make them 8 bit first.

Yes they are 16 bit files. Ah hah, ill have a go at that. Thanks very much.

Much appreciated.

Oh, sorry, how do I convert to 8 bit again?

Sorry for being stupid.....

If you are using photoshop you need to go to the image menu at the top and then go to mode then choose 8bit and then the jpeg option will be there when saving.

You were bob on...Thank you.

Its a bit noisy, but shows I can post them up.

Cheers.

I save a full TIFF, then a low res JPG for forums etc.

Thanks.

Well most photediting programs will convert from TIFF to Jpeg without any probs - I do this all the time.

When you say "TIFF HDR" are you trying to convert the HDR file to Jpeg or a TIFF file?

Peter..

The HDR fill is saved as a TIFF. I dont know of any other option than that when it comes from the photomatix prog. Though, as a TP member pointed out. I had to make the fill from 16BIT to 8BIT, to get the option to save as a jpg for uploading to forums etc.

When doing this I can now choose the quality of the image I choose to share, which is nice. I just need to sort my work flow out.

Thanks.
