WOW! Just had Sky HD installed after waiting 3 months.
Thought there wouldnt be much on....specially on Artsworld HD. Thought it would be all paintings and classical music etc.

At 2:00 was a charity Guitarfest with Eric Clapton, jamming with the likes of JJ Cale, Carlos Santana, James Taylor, BBKing among others.

It was FANTASTIC......and SO clear. Absolutely perfect...........Im in 7th Heaven!!

I need a HDTV first, then I can think about Sky HD and my Xbox 360 will finally be given some justice :D

pah

/cranks up the old black and white, and gives it a kick...

HD? Overrated...lol :p

Just kidding, so is it really good? I just thought it would be a nice wide picture, but a little clearer. Is there much difference?

Well its about 100% difference from the 40" LCD tv before it had HD.
It is So sharp.... the colours are dynamic... and the David Attenborough stuff is stunning.

i have heard people complain but not me.

The only thing I've got against it is having to pay that theiving b*****d Murdoch money. He'll never get another bean from me! :boxer:

I saw a demo in Comet the other day, you could see the individuals in the crowd and the patterns on the football actually spinning and things

Yes....probably not very kind to the Joan Collins's of this world! But lovely on us young ones!

HD is unimaginably better than SD.

I watched the trailer for MI:III in DVD res, 720p and 1080i and wow - staggering increase in quality.

I have heard that the ITV HD stuff is pretty pap but the BBC (who can afford to broadcast in full bandwidth) stuff is mindblowingly good for broadcast!

HD rocks!! 360 Rocks!!! PGR3 and Poker on 360 Rock!!!!

someone buy me Sky HD!!!

Unfortunately neither ITV nor BBC are on HD at the moment.

There is just a channel called BBC HD Preview. which is a loop of snippets of programmes which show off the HD. bits of wildlife, groups, drama etc etc.

God knows how long it will be till we get BBC1, 2, ITV etc in HD

queue behind me for a PS3 and a good Bluray player(when they get the codecs sorted..)

I've had HD for nearly a year now and it makes dvd's look like you're watching old video tapes. HD really comes into it's own on sports events as the clarity is exceptional. Sadly, there are still too many channels advertising HD content and showing plain old SD stuff instead, and they have a cheek to charge extra for HD channels.

I saw this stuff in Japan last year and is was pretty amazing on the six foot Display in the Sony centre in Tokyo! :D

A lot of actors are playing hell about HD because it shows all their wrinkles..

Also the BBC are spending thousands on the Eastenders set because all the old scenary made out of cardboard etc is knackered.

Its all to be replaced by building the set with bricks and morter so it looks real..

Perish the thought..

Well bang goes my hope of them scrapping Eastenders :'(

You can have it mate, if they get it all to fit in the box and actually work - lol. plus bluray sucks compared to hd-dvd apparently so the cleverer people say.

Or course you won't be able to hear anything over the fan noise trying to keep it cool too. :D
