hi all,

i posted a thread similar to this trying to create this effect in ps3

http://go.talkphotography.co.uk/?id=722X1339&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.danharperphotography.com%2Fphotos%2Fwhat%2Fnlss042208%2Fpages%2FD30_6223_c.htm

i know i have to increase the canvas size to 200 percent, click the center top arrow, and untick relative. when i click ok, i get the same picture over top of the other one. i was told to simply click and drag the top of the image and it will flip... it doesnt. as well i tried to flip it by using the image-> rotate canvas and this flips both images. as well. and when i do increase the canvas size, i see my image there but another equal space thats all black underneath it. a little help?

thanks

Don't use the the rotate canvas, try edit transform flip vertical. Or to drag the image to flip it hit CTRL+T for transform then click the move tool, the top layer should then show "handles" to drag if it doesn't make sure show transform controls is ticked (on the top toolbar)
if you haven't got 2 layers or more the transform tool won't show unless you unlock the background layer.

i still can't make it happen. could you give me a step by step on how you'd do it? this is starting to give me a headache lol

Open your image then press ctrl+j to duplicate it.
Increase the canvas size by 100% height with the anchor set at top middle
Use the selection tool and make sure the top layer is highlighted
Right click the image, select Free Transform, then right clickthe image again and flip it vertically
Select the Move tool to reposition the top layer
