I don't know if any of you have heard about the big Tesco coupon.. err dilemma?

Well it works like this:

You know those vouchers you get through the post, £1 off your next purchase of Persil Tablets, £0.50p off a 5kg bag of Supreme Pedigree dry mix etc etc ... Well, and this is where you need to read carefully ...

You can take in 1 of each branded voucher (only 1 x £1 off Persil, not 2 x £1 off Persil for example, but you can use £1 off Persil, then a £1 off Dazz) to your Tesco store and have that voucher amount deducted from your final shopping total WITHOUT HAVING TO BUY THE PRODUCT!

There is no limit on how many branded vouchers you use in any transaction. The only other real rule is that they have to have the product named on the voucher on their shelves. So you can't take a voucher in for £200 off when you buy a brand new BMW for instance, lol


There is a thread HERE on Moneysavingexpert.com, where people have contributed web addresses for hundreds of different links to printable vouchers.

I have been told people are going shopping in Tescos and getting a LOT of money off their shop. Not only that but they are going back again and again the same day to do the same. It's also not restricted to what you do buy, I don't think. So remember Tesco's don't only sell food Christmas presents!

If you knuckle down and print of loads of vouchers, you could buy yourself a wii or maybe that nice TV you've been after. With a HUGE discount

That sounds great but I'm so disorganised I'm the one in the shop rummaging through her handbag for her debit card, if I had vouchers to locate as well??? That's why I say no to the points cards - it's a bit like my posts on here really, handbag - too disorganised and filled with junk

So has anyone actually tried it out yet? I'm sure it will soon be stopped once Tesco realise there's a loop in the system?

Well my cousin apparently has had £2k worth of free stuff from the one in my home town. But the local large family (there are hundreds of them ) got wind of it and Tescos there now refuse all but their own vouchers .

Some of those vouchers are worth £5+ so it adds up to a very nice large sum in the end. I thought people might like to know about it given the fact a lot of people have lost their jobs recently. Every little helps and all that

I remember a few years ago when some guy stung them up for a load of money off bananas, well i think it was Tesco's, anyway he bought loads just to get money back for something or other, can't remember the exact details but he made a bit of a killing, maybe someone else on here will remember the story more accurately.

Just got back from tesco's in Alfreton - signs all over the place along the lines of "Due to recent events, we are no only accepting vouchers for goods that are actually bought with your shopping"

Ah, but that's only one store Sparks If you really want to give this a go, it's best to ring your Tesco branch ahead of time and ask if they accept Internet printable coupons. Many Tesco stores are still accepting them, some limit their customers to 5 coupons per transaction, or 10% of the total value ... but there are still some stores that let you use unlimited coupons. Even their own staff use them in combination with the booklet of coupons they get from their employer, resulting in paying pence for £100+ shop.

Might only be this store right now but common sense will surely set in v v soon with them - they didnt get that profitable by giving stuff away....
