Yes
For the life of me I cant find my Olympus OM10 , I have the lens's but no body ( Yet )

The hunt continues :confused::film:

No, I know where they all live. Sometimes miss place a charger.

Yes - I have a camera bag full of spotmatic bodies and lenses that I put away for posterity about ten years ago and simply cannot find any more. They all worked perfectly then too.

Couldn’t find a couple of film cameras left to me for a while. Searched high and low. Later found my brother had them for safe keeping! Wish he’d let me know.

I do know of a case where someone left a Nikon in an empty house. The finder handed it in to the police and six months later, still unclaimed, it was returned to them. I know about this because I bought the camera from the finder at a very advantageous price! :naughty:

Normally when I lose a camera - it falls into a lake. Not lost one at home. The odd accessory sometimes - but never a camera. Yet.

A week into sorting the house ready for a move and I still can't find it ?

I only seem to loose things that I put in a 'Safe Place'.
They tend to come to light either around 20 years later or shortly after I have just had to buy another one.

My wife’s ex husband had a theory that he should always keep an emergency stash of cash tucked away in the house. So he hid £250 somewhere under the floorboards. This was about 30 years ago and after a while he couldn’t remember where he’d put it. Anyway he died in 2008 and I moved in with my wife in 2012. We both scoured the house before we moved out but could never find it either. Presumably a plumber or electrician found it and had it away or somewhere there’s a family of mice with some very luxurious nesting material.

When I can't find an item of mine, after a good while I start to ask myself, what visitors have been to the house.

I am married to a squirrel, who "tidies" things up (Mostly my things), puts them somewhere then can't remember where she put them. I was looking for molegrips yesterday, couldn't find them in the tools section of the unit in the kitchen, rummaged around for half an hour, then found them in the medicines drawer :rolleyes:

Well, they can be used to hold nuts...

My dad had a good "friend" who used to borrow his tools. Dad told me that his "best electric saws" were hidden in the loft. When we moved mum (after dad passed) I scoured the loft but could find no tools at all! Dementia or a not so good "friend"?

At last virtually the last place and YAY found it :banana::film:
I found my "lost" light meter last week, and it was somewhere that it couldn't possibly have been. :rolleyes: Never mind, I found it and that's the main thing.

A guy where I worked was convinced his camera was stolen from his locker. He ranted and raved for weeks calling everyone thieves and the like. Fast forward a few more weeks, he decided to go hiking and on putting his hiking boots on he found his camera inside his boot. Apparently he put it in his boot for safe keeping, he had never even brought the camera into work.

Not a camera but I recently found a strip of 35mm negatives and some contact prints that I’ve been looking for, literally for decades. Tucked inside a book that was soon to be headed for a charity shop!
