Has anyone used one of these: Crucial MX500 2.5 SSD SATA 1 TB, with an external caddy?

Looking for recommendations for external SSD devices to use with iMac 2020....

I bought a 500 Gb Western Digital Blue M.2 SSD 5 months ago. Put it in a USB-C external enclosure. Best computer purchase I've made this year, at least. Fast, reliable, tiny and portable. I keep my live LR catalog and image files on it. Allows me to move it between my desktop at home and a laptop for the road. I use it on Windows machines, but I imagine it would work just as well formatted for Mac.

Whichever of MX500 or WD Blue you can find cheaper. The more difficult choice is the external caddy.

I’ll be honest I totally forgot about that one aha.. One thing though is when I was looking last night, some especially the Samsung versions people were saying they had issues with iMac due to the software Samsung put on them.. do you find any issue with the SanDisk? & will it be okay to keep plugged in all the time?
