I am considering getting myself one of these (Vosonic VP2160 - 40 GIG - SILVER) for Christmas but since I know very little about the external storage/viewers (and can't afford the epson ones) I thought I'd ask if anyone here had any experiences?

Also if anyone has any recommendations for another make/model that meets my requirements I would appreciate it.

I am wanting around 40Gb storage, it must read CF cards and although I doubt I will be able to for my budget, the ability to look at my photos would be a bonus.

I've been hapilly using the VP8360 (60GB) version for about 6 months (since my Archos died).
Does Movies/Songs/FM Radio/Video recorder (at a pinch)... and has download from most card types (I use CF). Will even decode RAW images and display them.

Build quality is not fantastic, but then it's not bad either.

If you want it for MP3 sound quality then dont get this one. The Archos was far superior.

For a general all round device I can heartily recomend it.

I've got the older model with the smaller display . Got mine for £80 from digitaldepot about 18 months ago
, works fine :)
