Has anyone been to Prague?

We are looking at spending six nights in Prague, just before Christmas, so I wondered if anyone can give me some advice - where to stay, what to eat, things to see etc.
All contributions appreciated.

We looked at Prague for just this, but felt that there weren't enough things of interest for us if it rained most of the time, but given the right weather it should be a good winter break. After much trawling we've ended up booking Copenhagen - most of teh German cities seem to have a significant premium when the Christmas Markets were on.
 
Michael Portillo just did a couple of programs about Prague in his new “Long Weekends” series . Think it was on C5? So should be available on their My5 catch up.
 
It's beautiful in the snow, probably not fun if it's raining. We were there about 15 years ago, so my experience isn't really relevant now.
 
its a decent place to roam and stop for a beer and a meal. 6 nights will be a stretch , we were there for a long weekend and as above if the weather is crap its not great, better in summer, for winter i thing Barcalona is nicer or Palma
 
A great place, I spent four days there in October 2019 and enjoyed them all. Don't miss 'The Castle' and if you want the renowned Technical Museum it's closed on Mondays, as I discovered. Lots to see, photograph, eat and drink.
 
Went just before lockdown. Stayed at Hotel Kampa, and also stayed at Kampa Garden. In the old town but a few minutes from Charles Bridge.

Thoroughly recommend both hotels. Evening shots of the city, tram trails and night time of the old town heading up to the castle suggested. Spend daylight wandering around the city, with as little gear as possible. Dusk/dark is best. Early mornings on Charles Bridge too, but I am NOT a morning person
