According to Giles Branthwaite, Harman Technology’s sales and marketing director, the film has been adapted from Phoenix 200.

“The high red sensitivity and lack of anti-halation layer make our Phoenix emulsion the perfect candidate for converting into a redscale film, he said.

In a press release to accompany the new film, Harman technology said: “It can transform mundane scenes into dystopian masterpieces with hues of red, orange, yellow and green whilst retaining characterful high contrast, vibrancy, and grain.

Rescale isn't really my cup of tea, but it's good that there's another film option out there.

I've just ordered a few to play with. I have lots of film already, but this is a little different for fun.

Hmm . . . a lot of profit for just putting the film in backwards.

I've done my own redscale a few times, based on old Agfa Vista 200 stock usually. But that's all dried up, so if I want to try it again, I might buy some of this... not that I've seen the price yet!... £13, so not terrible.

I wasn't sure about this: "HOT TIP: Over exposure will typically give finer grain and more dominant orange & red tones. Under exposure will show more greens, coarser grain, and prominent shadows." I had the feeling that under-exposure gave more reds, over-exposure more greens (the red layer getting exposed first in redscale). Are they right?

The attic darkroom puts it through its paces...
