Hi all.
Hope I got this in the right section.
In about 6 weeks there's a big Harley fest here (south of France ), upto 40.000 normally arrive.
My dilemma is, what lens, I have a 24mm, 50mm, 35-70, 18-55 and 70-300. do I use a cpl filter as its very bright in May? do I take some in b&w or convert later.
I have a Nikon D3200 with a grip so no problem with battery depletion .
Thanks for some input from you kind peeps.

Out of that selection of lenses I would probably have the 50mm prime and the 18-55. Maybe the 24mm prime too. The 50mm will give nice detail shots with the shallow DOF and the 18-55 is your widest lens. I guess you'll need either something wide or be a very, very long way away to get 40k harleys in the frame :P

Secondly I would not advise shooting in black and white. If you shoot colour you can put it into B&W later if you want, can't do that visa versa :)

Harry.

South of France in late May/early June? Should be plenty of light so I would take the kit lens (18-55). A polariser will help cut reflections off paintwork but won't do anything to them off metal - I would take it but take its case so you can stash it if you don't want it. Shoot in colour and convert in PP.

Thanks kind peeps. I'll take that on board re the lenses. I went last year and to see thousands upon thousands entering st tropez is awesome.
