Hard drive cloning

I need to replace a hard drive in a computer but never had any luck with cloning software. Can anyone recommend one which is free and works ?

I did this recently with Macrium Reflect, the free version worked just fine, though took a fair time (as I had my new target drive connected via a USB-SATA converter!!). Cloned a 750Gb onto a 1Tb drive, this left 250Gb unused and I expanded the partition in Windows without any issues.

Another vote for Macrium Reflect Free, recently cloned to a new SSD without any problems.
