Just been to town and back, seen 2 people barely able to stand, both lads in their early to mid 20's I reckon. One was being booted from the shopping centre for harassing people, another staggering [barely] up the road as we passed in a taxi ... it's the minority like that who give rest of us the bad rep. Plenty of people in buying booze, and the majority here do have a few bevvies on the day - but I don't think I've ever been legless by 2pm on any occasion.

Anyway, to anyone with a bit of Oirish in them, Lá Fhéile Pádraig  (y)

I live in Cheltenham, plenty of Irishmen celebrating St Patrick's day around here today!

Sitting here with my pint of Guinness watching the match and some idiot has just run from the crowd and tied himself to a goal post

Not something we read every weekend ... hopefully he wasn't Irish!

Doesn't seem to be as many Irish on here as I thought, no matter, we beat England in the rugby last week - YAY ... but now we need you lot to beat France! [and us to beat the Scots!] (y) so weirdly I will be cheering for bothon Sat

@Cobra kinda diappointed the TP icon didn't go Oirish for the day, no biggie but ... I did see you say we'd all get a chance

Yep sorry about that, it was primed and ready to go, but the person with the responsibility for the logo changes, it seems hasn't been able to get on line for the last couple of days.
:(

One of the joys of being a mongrel is that there is a wide choice of teams to support in the 6 nations. The only team I don't have any blood from is the Welsh (and I suspect there's probably a drop or 2 of that somewhere in the mix!)

My second cousin plays for Ireland, Joey Carberry, he's more a super sub but I definitely have to shout for him. His mam used to babysit me when I was a kid, she'd be having none of it if I shouted for any other team. In saying that, I don't think she'll mind me cheering for England Vs France this time!

Happy Belated International Guinness Marketing Day! And also International Hallmark/ClintonCards Marketing Day just last weekend (aka Mother's Day)

Mother's day is older than Hallmark - but only by a couple of years. Pretty sure St Patrick (apparently a Welshman) was around a bit before Guinness too.

Living in Ireland, not seen one advert for Guinness on Paddy's day - maybe they take the opportunity to market on the day abroad? Also, as Nod says, He was around a very long time before any modern day brewery, I mean he died in 490AD! - He was British, not sure if Welsh? But found his faith apparently, in Ireland after being taken captive and brought here. I'd say you're great fun at Christmas :ROFLMAO: You probably don't buy anyone presents because you're not religious right?
