Hello,

I'm flying to Venice tomorrow with BA from Gatwick and I have a quick question.

I'm only there for 3 nights on a business trip so I don't want to take a massive suitcase, so I'm taking a weekend wheeled case for clothes and then...

Hand luggage: My Kata photography bag, with a tripod strapped to it. The tripod won't fit in the suitcase but is only just slightly longer than the rucksack - it will be in it's carry case.

Would that be allowed? Have any if you done it before?! Would I be able to take that on as hand luggage? I have no idea and have left it too late to contact BA.

Thank you,
Ash

I am not sure but i don't think they will like it. they will probably say the tripod could be used as a weapon?

BA don't have weight restrictions for carry on bags on international flights - they do have size limits - but I'm not sure about short haul like Venice. I doubt if they'll allow a tripod in the cabin. Call them?

Thank you for your replies... I have now decided to take a bigger suitcase and put it in there. Cheers guys!
