Newbie here.
Only owned a proper camer for a few months but i'm really enjoying it and i'm getting more and more into photography s time goes on.
I live in north lancs and mainly do lanscape/nature/macro stuff.
I have a Canon eos400d with the crappy 18-55mm kit lens and a cheep Tamron 70-300 telemacro, both of which I'm hoping to replace as soon as possible. Although i think my first purchase will have to be a macro lens, either the 90mm Tamron or the 105mm sigma,... not sure which yet :)
I also own a meade 105 etx 4 inch reflector telescope for astrophotography

Anyway, hope to learn a lot from places like this :D

Hello :)

Don't be so quick to diss the kit lens. It can produce some pretty good images despite the cheap plastic feel of it.

Yeah, I must say, of my two lenses the tamron 70-300 disapoints me more often than the 18-55 kit. The tamron is nice in macro (only 1:2 though) but at or near 300 it doesnt seem very good at all

As has already been said don't ditch the 18-55 too quickly I have has some resonable results with it
