Hi everyone,

The girl in this photo has asked me to get rid of all the stray frizzy hair in this photo. I personally hate having to do anything like that as it takes me hours. But that could be because there's a better/easier/faster way of tidying it up.

I'd go about it by cutting out the girl on to a new background then layer mask the girl and paint in everything I wanted back in.

Can any of you guys give me a better/quicker way of how to do it? If so maybe links to an online guide or similar if possible?

I'm using PS CS3 btw.

Thanks everyone.

Personally, I would look at the following approach if you don't want to cut her out.

1) Create a duplicate layer
2) Get the brush with the following settings Opacity 40% and Flow 30%
3) Select the background color and start painting.
4) For the outer hairs, I would use a soft brush, probably 0 hardness
5) Closer to the head go for a hard brush, perhaps 70

Duplicate layer, zoom in a bit and use the clone stamp tool on the background might work

Thanks guys. I'll give those a try later.

Personally I don't think the frizzy hairs harm the photo. What do you lot think? I could be biased because I know the girl in the photo well (she's one of my MUA's who finally gave in to me nagging her to get on the other side of my lens) and I think her hair is glorious as it is.

Thanks for the link Christine. I already know how to do that and I really don't want to go that far when I don't see a problem with her hair and she's happy with it apart from the frizzy bits.
