Hey guys I've got a shoot today for the hair dresser of the year awards that are coming up shortly.

Just wondering if any of you could put some ideas in for the lighting set up. Obviously the shots are here to emphasize the hair and nothing else really. Clients booked out a studio and it's a pretty decent one so I'm expecting everything that I need/want will be available.

Any tips?

Difficult without seeing what you're shooting, but as a general rule...

Low level on axis fill, a key light on the face, fairly soft, and an accent light on the hair, probably a stop brighter or so than the key light. I would generally use a honeycomb for this, often in the rimlight position and fairly high.

That's just a starting point, hope it helps
