GSXRMovistar's 2011 52 project (Weeks 18 to 23 added)

Love the sharpness of No1 and the shallow DOF compliments it well.

Like the idea of No2, but feel that the bottom stack are perhaps a little soft at the bottom?

I really like that - a simple photo that made me smile. And after all, what more can you ask from a photo?
Great idea, and a great little model.

 Love the title for week 3. And I'd disagree about it not being skillful - yes it's great fun, but you've obviously put a lot of effort into it. Lighting and composition are spot on and you've done a really good job on the PP.

My only criticism would be that the one behind the box looks very small in comparison with the others. Appreciate that this is probably a trick of the perspective, but it just looks a little odd.

No.2 can't fault at all. Nicely put together, great colours and perfect DoF

No.1 pin sharp where it matters and the diagonal composition works very well. Not sure what's going on with that blur on the LHS of the face though

Thanks for the comments, and agree with what you have said about the behind the box head. Whilst it is a trick of perspective I'm tempted to re-edit the image and enlarge it slightly.

Hi Andy

sorry I've missed your thread :'(

Week 4.... what a great capture , cute looking fella ,great focus & the crrot color really pops

Week 5 .....beautiful colors & reflections spot on , the angle works really well too  Only slight nit pick would be possibly cropped a tad to tight bottom right ? Still a million times better than I could do though !

Week 6...love the 3 images & background colors ,really good shot

Week 7....love the colors & shapes & suits valentines perfectly ,maybe a touch too strong on the color ? But thats only my thought

Really great photo's through your challenge , look forward to seeing more

Many thanks for the feedback. Regarding Week 5, I have to agree I wasn't keen on the tight cropping. My fault as I hadn't allowed enough space to rotate the image (was shot horizontally).

Ok, so you've seen my comment before. I'm keeping the ones here separate from that other place ;)

Just seen the other weeks that I've missed; as good as always and all seem to have the same common type of pp to them. Curious how you did the multiple girls in a box one; obviously multiple shots but then PS'd

Yep mostly in PS, basically:-

  • Set scene
  • Mount camera on tripod
  • Take lots of pics as the little monster moves around the box
  • Import all half decent images into one image in PS as sperate layers
  • Use eraser to rub away unwanted sections from each layer to reveal the one below
  • Few odd adjustments/cut & pastes to make sure everything lines up
I've done a couple of these previously, nothing too complicated but the end result is fun.

Hiya Andy,

Just seen your thread, and wow you have some great shots here.

Love your Week 3, the title says it all :D

The colours in week 5 are fab and I really like the abstract appeal of this image.

How lucky you were to get some decent sky in week 8 and a great shot too. I recently went on the London Eye, but it was dull and grey so not as good a shot as yours.

Week 11 has to be my favourite, just so cute and the look on the face  Great title to go with it too

Well done and I look forward to seeing your future photos.

Cheers

Dawn :)

Thanks, it's been hard finding the time to grab something each week but glad I'm sticking to it, hopefully as the weather improves there will be a lot more outdoor based photography.

HI Andy, i must say i'm still impressed by all of your images here... especially week 11.. the ears say it all.. even The Fear, very atmospheric...

Many thanks, and as for George (my dog) yeah he is a character and his ears are like him, very quirky.

I know iv seen this before over on ocuk but still a nice shot. Almost Ray styled DoF on it ;-)

Biscuits :nom:

Nice expression, must be well behaved to sit there for you,

Thanks, and no the little b****r isn't all that well behaved, more a case of catching him for a split second before the next thing grabs his attention. :D

Andy...these last two... excellant... love summer feet..

i scrolled down and BHAM... love it and the wharf.. i feel you captured great depth in the sun on the LHS, scooping round to diminish to the right..
