My fault entirely I guess........

Father-in-law comes round for tea..........

I had been sorting out the camera bag and inadvertently left a 77mm Hoya UV filter on the dresser unit/sideboard type thing...........

What does he do? (whilst I am finishing up in the kitchen?)

Use it as a f###ing coaster, and break it...

(Before you ask how does he break it?

a) has the eyesight of a bat
b) has the body coordination / manual dexterity of a rhino!

The only good thing is it was the cheap nasty version not the PRO1.

Anyone want a 77mm to 77mm "step ring" ? Free to a good loving home.........

Would you believe I actually want an empty filter holder to mount some glass? :D
One man's misfortune...

(sorry to hear about the filter)

beat me to it! :'(

Unlucky. My grandfather would probably do the same. Good job I don't really use filters.

At least you've learned never to leave filters out and about. And look on the bright side, like you said, at least it wasn't one of the expensive ones.

If it were a Hoya HD that wouldn't have happened!

Why do you have a UV filter anyway? Go to a lot of Rally stages?

I bet the tea was OOF and badly vignetted as well...in fact as everyone here keeps telling me - filters are the main cause of every problem known to mankind...
Reichstag Fire? Filters did that...
The Great Depression? Filters...
Fuel Prices today...you guessed it - Filters...

Volcanic Ash Cloud/Flights Grounded=Filters

Evil little things that need wiping off the face of this earth
