Good morning, good morning from not far from Bury St Edmunds.

Whilst I've been using digital cameras for years in a previous occupation (estate agent - made redundant in our lovely recession), it was always p&s. Until I treated myself to a Panasonic FZ18 earlier this year. A few bits followed - filters, Tcon 17, Minolta close up filter, rapidly followed by the desire to branch out. The TCon went and in came a Canon 400D with the usual suspect kit lenses - 18-55, 75-300. I've been adding lenses - Canon 50mm, 28-70mm, Sigma 105mm macro, fitlers, kenko tubes, ring flash.
The FZ18 only now comes out with an IR filter so I ought sell it, together with the above kit lenses. I'm in the process of gathering more Canon lenses and am poised ready to try a long L series lens - dithering between a 400 prime or the 100-400 - or possibly a Bigma/Bigmos. Clearly I need to try these lenses for myself before making the choice.
What do I shoot? I really enjoy macro, I want to be better equipped for shooting deer/foxes/badgers without going into static hide arrangments, hence wanting to upgrade from the 75-300. I tend not to be a town/architecture kind of person, unless I come across interesting old buildings.

Well, that's me in a nutshell, I hope to have fun here and learn lots.:)
