Hi everyone. Thanks for letting me join your community here.
My oldest camera was released in 1963 and the youngest one is from some 60 years later. Having been a happy snapper for most of my life I did a college course several years ago to improve my technical understanding of photography. It was time well spent, even if the post-processing carry on drove me scatty! Nowadays I prefer to teach myself, learn informally from others and plough my own happy little furrow.
The image quality and general capabilities of a good full frame DSLR have my timeless respect. Eventually I began to resent their bulk and weight and switched to APS-C mirrorless. Those cameras and lenses have since gained my timeless respect too.
For decades I worked with all sorts of advanced equipment and technologies. Nowadays I like to keep things as simple and natural as possible, e.g. at least 90% of my shots are JPEG only and what I care to know about flash photography could fit on the back of a small postcard.
Documentary and travel were my favourite styles for a long time. Nowadays a bit of street is fun and I'm also getting more into nature and wildlife. The forums are full of engaging skills, knowledge and chat and I look forward to participating in them with you.
All the best,
JJ.
