Good day all,

I'm new to the forum here. My name is Ryan and I'm from South Africa.

My step dad had a film canon SLR and he would take snaps. In 2005 he got a hp 3.1mp compact camera and I took a few photos on it but they weren't very good but I was very young.

In 2009 I saved my pocket money and bought my first DSLR a canon 450d with a 18-55mm and 75-300mm that was on a clearance sale. I started shooting on the automodes. Then I took a big dive and got a canon 7d with a 15-85mm and I used manual for the first time... Wow what a big jump. Then I upgraded to a 7d mkii, 6d, 5d mkiii and 6d mkii. Then I made my jump to a Fujifilm xt1 which I loved but the glass was too expensive and I couldn't afford new glass. So I sold it and tried Nikon.

I got a Nikon D7100 and then a D7500. I loved the glass and the button placement. Then life happened and I had to get rid of them.

Now I'm trying with small compact mirrorless Sony Camera's.

I am a hobbiest photographer and like taking photos for me and my family. I don't ever think I will make it as a full time photographer but I'm not working on doing that.

Subjects I like to photograph: Cars, motorbikes, Races, Wildlife, and Dogs. Favourites are birds and dogs

Subjects I don't like to photograph: People, weddings, products

Subjects I would like to improve in: People and Landscapes.

Skills I need to improve on: Photoshop. Post production editing.

Favourite Quote: The most important thing about photography is the 2cm behind the viewfinder.

Goals: Improve Story Telling and take more photos of dogs.

Thank you for reading!
Have a wonderful week!
