Hello everyone
I've been lurking around for a while, but I thought it high time I popped my head up to say hello.
I have enjoyed photography ever since I was a kid, with fond memories of taking pictures with my dad's old folding camera. For a time I was a very keen film SLR user and loved my EOS-630. With the arrival of digital I moved across, starting first with borrowing a very early Sony (less than a megapixel) to photograph my daughter's birth. I then added a megapixel or two (via a series of compacts) as I could and about a year-and-a-half ago finally got my first DSLR (a D5000).
About six months ago I really got bitten by the bug again and have been having fun relearning all the technical stuff I used to know - and quite a few things I didn't.
With the passion has come the extra gear - including being able to indulge a long-standing interest in older film cameras now they are so ridiculously cheap. I'll even start using some of them soon!
Anyhow, it is great to be a part of this forum, even if I am unlikely to ever be invited on one of the group shoots (I live in Australia)
