grease film on filter surface

as above, whats the best way to remove..?

I've tried Zeiss Lens Wipes and Isopropyl Alcohol Cleaning Wipes

still smeary translucent swirls......

If I get greasy smears on my glasses I literally wash them with cold water and washing up liquid gently rubbing the lenses with wet soapy fingers then rinse and let dry before buffing up with lint free cloth


I reckon similar will work with filters be they glass or plastic. I haven’t had to do so on resin lenses but will do without hesitation if the need arises.

I have washed filters and cheap resin reading glasses with warm water and washing up liquid, it works a treat.

Grease needs detegent - washing liquid.
Warm water, air dry and then use lens wipes.
