Any favourite places?

I really want to see the dunes near Masapalomas. But I'm not so keen on the millions of people I hear are usually there. Any good places? I'll have a car and satnav. Staying near Teror because I thought the name was funny.

A couple of places that I really liked were Puerto de las Nieves, an old fishing village where you can see the Dedo de Dios (Finger of God). Aguimes is a sleepy town with lovely buildings and churches to photograph. It is also home to the camel statue in the alley - featured on many a postcard. Puerto del Mogan is also very picturesque, it"s called Little Venice. Centred around the marina.
HTH.

If you go to Masapalomas beware the wind direction it can whip up a heck of sand filled breeze.

I will have a look at my 'folders' and post where we went but Teror is a good place & quite scenic buildings wise. Oh before I forget make sure to check opening times of the churches as one town we went to it was shut for the siesta hours period and we could not wait for it to re-open :(

Be back later with my list :)

PS we stayed both times in Peurto de Mogan....................if there late there is bar where local musicians play most evenings and a small crowd gathers to drink and 'enjoy'.

Thanks very much. Now I'm slightly embarrassed to admit that I was there last week :)

Puerto de las Nieves was lovely (though the finger of god was broken off in a storm). Didn't manage to make it to Aguimes. Puerto do Mogan was very busy. It's possible it was market day (Friday) - there were stalls everywhere.

Maspalomas was amazing. Went there once for a full 4 hour walk across the dunes in hot weather. Awesome. Though the number of naked Germans in the sand dunes was slightly alarming. Went again on the way back from Puerto de Mogan and it was blowing up a storm. Wrapped my camera in a Buff to protect it from the sand and got some pretty nice snaps. But mainly I got sandblasted.
