Graduation in Preston Guild Hall

Not sure which forum to post this in so picked this one

its my daughter graduation next month its being held in Preston Guild hall

a few questions
1 are you allowed to take photos in a graduation? (this the first in the family)
2 if allowed take its no flash? (use a high ISO?)


I'll be using a D3100

I took photos of my Daughter in laws graduation ( as did most of the people there using P&s Cameras and phones ), there were flashes going off all over the place, remember most people don't know how to turn them off!
I was a fair way back from the podium using a Canon 7D+70-200 f4+580EX flash and high ISO and got some reasonable shots, just keep out of the way of the pro togs
