I took my 120-300mm f/2.8 lens and 1D mkIII down to sigma on the 2nd of Jan due to front focusing issues, whenever i took a shot it front focused even when i get the mircooadjustment to 20. Finally got it back on thursday after travelling 2 hours to get it, they was going to send it by post but thought it would be safer to go get it myself.
I got it home and it is loads better, here is a pic of my dog, it was inside will not a lot of light other than my flash.

I focussed on his eyes. and this was also a crop of the original.

That looks sharp mate, i only got mine last week, it will get its first test on Wednesday at Mallory Park. How much would it have cost for you to send it to Sigma?

Sigma did a 300mm f/2.8 for a friend of mine recently.

I told him it was was WAY off but he was pretty happy with it - I got him to send it back to Sigma and it came back loads better and sharp at f/2.8 whereas it needed to be stopped down to f/5.6 to be useable.

Still not as good as my 120-300 in all honestly, but I think even Sigma says their 120-300 is better than their prime. (I read this somewhere but I can never find the source of that now)

They are very good with repairs and service.

I have also seen this before.:D

OMG I want one of these lenses sooo much

Rather than start a new thread, can someone give me an idea on what sort of price I should look to get for my Sigma 120-300? It's a Nikon fit, pretty much as new with all packaging, etc and only been on a camera for about 4 hours in the year I've had it. I'd include a Sigma 2x Teleconverter as well.

Only selling as we are emigrating to New Zealand and I need to sell a couple of my less used lenses rather than pay to ship them over (and risk them getting damaged).

Thanks in advance :)

The last one here sold for about £1k (which IMHO was a bargain, but no one seemed to want it for unfathomable reasons)

I sold mine a year or so back with for £950 IIRC.

Nowadays I'd guess £1.2k? But not sure - have a check on Ebay for completed listings.

my 70-200 is on its way back to me this week, cant wait i have missed my camera and lens for 3 weeks!
