On my way back home from my mornings dog walking routine, I met a person on the lane that I always say good morning to. This morning however this person had a load of shopping that she was carrying.

She had a big carton of milk in one hand, something tucked under her arm and two bags in the other hand. She had all this ballanced really neatly, and I thought that this would have been a great shot.

She always sees me out with my camera as does loads of other people, and she always says hello to me. So she does know me by sight, so I thought there was a good chance she would say yes to a quick photo.

I gave her my biggest smile and politely asked for permission. She shouted at me ( No I don't want you to take my photo OK) Her face changed as she said this to me, and she stared hard at me!

I can only imagine she will probably go back to her fella, and say something like ( there is a pervert about asking to take photos of me)

On reflection, it would have been better to simply take a candid iphone photo :|

On reflection ... probably best to have offered to help her carry her stuff home, photo would have been more likely then.

It did cross my mind that being laden down with shopping may have been the reason. I could not lend a hand, as I had the dog on a lead with one hand, the camera in the other, and my camera bag slung over my shoulder.

Besides she was ballancing the shopping just fine :)

Lucky you weren't also carrying something else around your neck IMO ... like a carton of milk!

I think most women would be highly suspicious of a stranger coming up and asking to carry her shopping for her
because you partly know this person offering to carry some shopping would be perfectly innocent but I think most husbands and fathers would be horrified by the thought of bringing a stranger up the garden path

one of those situations where each case should be evaluated
