Gorillapod/ Giotto mounting shoe

Hi,

I have a Giotto tripod and really fancy a Gorillapod for when I am just out and about in the car (work and back etc). The question I have is are these tripods the same fittment, can I leave the existing mounting shoe on the bottom of my camera for both tripods?

The gorrilapod has the 3/8" with a 1/4" adaptor screw fitted over the top. The 1/4" is usually used for attaching tripod heads and the 3/8" is the size for fitting to a camera.

So if you have a quick release for your Giotos tripod and want to make use of it on your gorilla pod then you need to buy a head that uses the same quick release plate and put it on your gorilla pod.

A head on the gorilla pod makes it a lot easier to use, you can secure it to what ever and then position the camera rather than position the gorilla pod and try to get it in the right position at the same time.
