Hi all,
I love using my GoPro Hero 4 Black action cam for time lapse, and under water video.
Though I have not used used for a few years I decided I would take it on a cruise holiday to time lapse the departer from ports.
I have done this quite a few times on past holidays, however not this time !

I use the GoPro app Quik to connect my phone to the Her4 with my various Samsung galaxy smart phones from S7,S9 and now a S24 Ultra.

I cannot seem to get my Hero4 to pair with the app. It continuously says that it can't find my gorpro. Here are some things I have tried.

Resetting the wifi on the gopro.
Reinstalling app.
Connecting manually to Bluetooth and wifi on my phone using the default password and pin flashing on gopro.

I do get connected and all seems fine, until I go to use the Hero4 next time I get the whole issue of 'Can't Not Find my GoPro' !
So I have to go through the process of manually reconnecting to Blue Tooth, and WiFi ( Local WiFi between GoPro and smartphone, no router involved).
This process takes a very long time and when I need to set up shoot time lapse for when the ship is leaving port. There is not enough time to fav around reconnecting to Blue Tooth, and WiFi

Does any one have a hack, or suggestion how to resolve this issue, or is it just an android capability issue ! ?

Many thanks

T

I've got the GoPro Hero Session which I've used for MTB and timelapse - however, it's such a faff trying to get it working I've decided I'm going to get something with a screen. You might just be hitting a compatibility issue, the Hero 4's getting on a bit now. Can you do a factory reset on it?

I have some old Samsung Smart wise CCTV home cameras, and the the App that controls them has just stopped connecting to the WiFi & internet
The issue I believe is the developers have stopped supporting the App, and therefore the cameras will not work, thanks Samsung.

So I suspect the GoPro have limited, or even stopped supporting older cameras trying to force you to upgrade to newer model.
If they offer a trade in deal I will get the Hero13 Black !

If this is the case I will just use the my GoPro Hero 4 as cycle cam as the weather improves. The driving standard of SUV drivers goes downhill especially when they do the school run ! lol

For Timelaspe I have discovered that my Samsung S24 Ultra has some very good timelapse features. So I have started use that instead of the GoPro4 as it is always with me, and the menu system is very easy.
I just have to get use to the different terms and options Samsung use, and the best thing is I have choice of 4 lenses !
