Hi all,

Could anybody recommend a non genuine Remote for a Canon 50D?

I take it they work just like a shutter button? When you press half they focus etc..?

Thanks

I use my pocketwizards:)

There is a cable you can buy for PW's that plugs into the remote socket so I can trigger a camera from something stupid like 100m!

Well there are a few out there, but double check that you can use it with high or low speed firing. I bought a cheapie one a while back and when it was used on high speed, as soon as you pressed the button the camera would just keep firing, you had to switch the camera off manually to stop it :lol:

got an £8 compatible one of ebay ages ago, good bit of kit! had shutter lock on aswell for bulb setting

be careful with wireless ones as i'm not sure they can do a looooooooong exposure

this was my weapon of choice
but it was only 20quid whenI bought it!"?!?
linky

cheaper

my wireless one has a button on the transmitter that works as a cable release without any batteries installed..nice handy function, whether or not it does Bulb though...can't comment
