Good price for a Canon 100-400mm?

Had mine for less than 2 weeks (bought new) on an impulse buy (an expensive impulse buy!!). Have been trying to shoot sports but decided I need a F2.8 lens really as the 100-400mm beast needs loads of light!!

I've put it in the freeads for £750 is this a good price? I realise I'm losing money but you live and learn. Looking at the 70-200mm F2.8 or a Sigma 120-300mm F2.8.

I sold mine for £720, but it was over a year old!!

Canon 300 f4

and

Canon 70 - 200 f4

for a total of £650 there...would cover you nicely :) not the f2.8 but as you can see from the example pics (the 300 f4) is good for sport at least!
 
They go higher on eBay esp with some nice images of it and maybe a great shot you've taken with it. But for a cash deal you should sell it easy at that price.
 
Cheers for the replies. I've been thinking the last few days and decided to save up for the Sigma 120-300mm 2.8. I found the 200mm a bit short as I do baseball photography which needs shots of the outfield, but the 2.8 is needed as I also do some indoor sports from time to time.

Therefore I reckon the Sigma 120-300mm is a good compromise and from what I've heard its a great lens too! Need to sell my left kidney but as I like to go out at the weekends I'll just save up for a few months, sell the 100-400mm at that time and upgrade :) Seems the best plan and given I'm not doing anymore indoor sports till the winter it shouldnt prove too much of an issue!
 
Footman was that a new lens you got for that price? If so was it from a shop or ebay? I'm after one of these lens but can't really afford the £900+ the main shops sell for. I can only find it for £935 (£850 with the cashback) :'(
 
Chris go to kerso's site on ebay. A lot of us use him, good service and great prices. Do a search.

although if you PM him on here you tend to get goods cheaper as no ebay fees

Thx for the replys i'll have a look again today. Tried searching Kerso yesterday and nothing came up in his ebay shop. That is to say his shop was there but nothing selling?

Yes, he's flying back today, so give him a couple of days and I'm sure you'll get an answer.
